Colts in action on Day 2

20 Mar 2018

An incredible 821 teams will be in action this week and today was the turn of the U16s with the preliminary rounds of the Colts competition.

160 teams were split into 32 groups and through the course of the day, they’d be whittled down to just 16 sides to go through to the final knockout stages tomorrow.

There was a clear statement of intent from reigning champions Wellington College who topped a tough group and progressed to the last 16 with a comprehensive 36-0 win over one of the most impressive sides of the group stages, Cwm Rhymni.

They will play Epsom College in Wednesday’s last 16 round, which you can catch on our live stream.

Cheltenham College made it through to tomorrow courtesy of a tense 22-17 win over Eton College. Also through after a tough last-32 tie is the Thomas Hardye School, who overcame Llandovery College 17-4.
