Each year, the tournament continues to grow and in 2026, we’re thrilled to be welcoming over 16,000 participants for what promises to be another remarkable celebration of school rugby.
Volunteer as a Referee at the World’s Largest School Rugby Tournament
Each year, we invite volunteer referees to take part in officiating at the world’s largest school rugby tournament – a unique opportunity to be at the heart of the action.
Whether you’re a student, teacher, coach, parent, or simply passionate about rugby, this is your chance to both experience and contribute to the success of this incredible event.
If you’ve completed any RFU referee qualification (such as Ready2Ref) and have experience officiating boys and girls age-grade rugby, we’d love to hear from you. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds – from school teachers and rugby coaches to student referees – and work alongside society and international referees throughout the tournament.
All volunteer referees are professionally managed and enjoy:
- Free on-site parking
- A complimentary referee jersey
- Food and refreshments on the day
