Dan Norton, current England Sevens winger, took time out from his preparations with the England squad to pay a visit to Hartpury College today (12th May) to wish the college Sevens squad good luck in their forthcoming HSBC match with Filton college at Twickenham. The special match will act as the curtain raiser to the London Sevens, the penultimate leg of the 2011 HSBC Sevens World Series.
Hartpury College won the once in a lifetime right to play against their old rivals Filton College on the pitch at Twickenham on Saturday 21st May thanks to their recent success in the Rosslyn Park HSBC National Schools Sevens, where they finished runner’s up to Filton.
The re-match of the Final at Rosslyn Park will be played on the opening day of the London Sevens, and former Hartpury student and current England Star Dan Norton was on hand to wish the team luck in their upcoming fixture.
Dan commented: “Being an old boy of the school it was great coming back to meet the squad who are going to be playing at Twickenham and to wish them luck in the match. I gave them a few tips about playing at Twickenham as I am sure they will find it amazing playing in front of so many people. It’s a great credit to the team that they have earned the right to play at Twickenham as a result of their performance at the Rosslyn Park HSBC National School Sevens. Let’s hope both England and Hartpury come away victorious from the London Sevens leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series!”
